At Auto-sleepers, we’re proud of an association with ford that dates back over forty years. Today all of our ford conversions are based on the latest rear-wheel drive Ford Transit chassis, which is rightly acknowledged as offering an excellent driving experience, perfect for long, relaxed continental tours.
You can choose from five Ford Transit-based models in our coachbuilt range – Duetto, Ascot, Windsor, Wilton each powered by Ford’s excellent 140ps, 2.4 TDCi or the Eton powered by the 100ps, 2.2 TDCi engine. Alternatively, consider the Amethyst monocoque, also offered with the 140ps 2.4-litre engine. Remote locking, single disc CD/radio, tinted glass and cruise control come as standard in all our Ford-based models.
Peugeot
Peugeot has a well-deserved reputation for durability, innovation and value for money and is a highly popular choice among Auto-Sleepers customers. Auto-Sleepers’ relationship with Peugeot is a long-standing one – some of our first ever models were based on Commer chassis, now part of the Peugeot group.
Nine of the models in our range are Peugeot powered, from the compact Mezan with its 1.6-litre Euro IV HDi engine through to the stylish Nuevo and Sigmas and the award winning Symbol and Warwick high tops. The Peugeot range includes essential features like advanced ABS braking that come as standard, as do airbags and an adjustable steering column. With engine variants that include the 1.6HDi (90bhp), 2.2HDi and a range-topping 3.0HDi with (157bhp), there’s plenty of choice for those who like their holidays to be Peugeot powered.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen has long been famed for reliability and high-quality engineering and its relationship with Auto-Sleepers goes back to the 1970’s. Our VW-based models in the Hightop range are based on the versatile and manoeuvrable VW T5 Transporter with a range of fuel efficient and powerful engine options.
In addition to the high tops offered in the Auto-Sleepers Volkswagen range is the Sandhurst coachbuilt model with its powerful 2.5-litre engine and T5 AL-Ko chassis, offers all the space and luxury you could wish for. Engine and transmission options for the Sandhurst include 130ps and 174ps and the efficient, relaxing Tiptronic automatic gearbox.
